The Registry Staff

The Registry staffs brings together over 100 years of combined child care, early childhood and education expertise. Our staff is focused, well-trained and dedicated to helping you get the most out of your Registry Membership.

Nicole Lopez

Nicole Lopez Purkapile - Executive Director

Nicole brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to The Registry. She has nearly 20 years of experience in the childhood care and education profession including working for agencies that have managed school readiness services, Head Start and Migrant Head Start programs, child welfare, ECE professional development and ECE databases. Prior to joining The Registry in 2016, Nicole worked with Quality Rating Improvement Systems, most recently with The Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County.

Jody Gennrich - Director of Operations

Jody has been with The Registry since 2001. Her background includes working as a preschool and school-age teacher in a group child care program. Jody enjoys working in the childhood care and education field and loves working with people. She processes Registry membership applications, provides daily customer service, and trains new staff members. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master of Arts degree in Teaching and Learning with Technology.

Hyewon

Hyewon Chung - Director of Operations

Hyewon joined The Registry in 2015 and has since held a variety of positions allowing her to gain a complete understanding of operational policies and procedures. She has experience in the education field as an administrative assistant and substitute teacher at a Montessori Academy in California and an ESL teacher in Chile and Spain. In her current role as Director of Operations, Hyewon leads the Achieve team by collaborating with partner agencies and building strong relationships with practitioners to best meet the needs of the Childhood Care and Education Workforce.

Emily

Emily Finnerud - Director of Operations

As the Director of Operations, Emily is the team lead and responsible for operational policies and procedures. Emily has a strong background in education. She has been a Higher Ed. Teaching Assistant, Higher Ed. Research Assistant, and After-School Assistant Teacher. Emily strives to achieve a high level of excellence in both her work and in supporting childhood care and education professionals.

Katy

Katy Love - Director of Information Management

Katy joined the in January 2017. With a Bachelor's in Zoology and a secondary science teaching license she has worked in a variety of places from zoos to high school biology classrooms. She is passionate about all forms of education. Katy's responsibilities include verifying, entering, and updating information for membership accounts as well as helping customers troubleshoot any difficulties that arise. She is looking forward to continuing to learn and grow here at the Registry.

Christine Moldenhauer

Christine Moldenhauer - Director of Professional Development

Christine brings a strong sense of purpose and organization to The Registry. Christine has worked in the childhood care and education field for over 15 years, first in group child care and now at The Registry. Passionate about coaching, guiding, and mentoring, Christine is strongly committed to working collaboratively with childhood care and education professionals through the Wisconsin Professional Development Approval System and Registry Credentials.

Gina

Brian Kluender - Comptroller

Brian brings over 15 years of accounting experience to The Registry, most recently serving as the Accounting Manager for an IT Consulting firm in Madison. Having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Brian’s primary focus at The Registry will be processing payroll, managing accounts payable and receivable and creating and presenting financial statements to the executive staff and Board of Directors. Brian joined The Registry in August, 2016.

Joshua Vick

Joshua Vick - Communications & Outreach Coordinator

Joshua believes in the importance of quality care for all of Wisconsin's children. He has experience teaching, having taught English in Beijing for more than 6 years, and also working in the childhood care and education field upon returning to the United States. Prior to joining The Registry in 2014, Joshua contributed articles and assisted in web development for a sports website. Joshua has recently earned a master's degree in marketing communications.

Julie

Julie Christensen - Public Outreach & Engagement Specialist

As a parent, Julie understands the importance of quality child care and education. Prior to joining The Registry in July 2016, Julie worked for over five years in the nonprofit sector for organizations such as the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army and Channel One Food Bank and Food Shelf. She also has over five years of experience in higher education focusing on community relations, career services, and teaching business courses.

Tara

Tara - Operations Coordinator

Tara began working at The Registry in 2014. Tara has dedicated many years to the child care and education field as a Licensed Child Care Provider. In addition to this, she has been a parent volunteer at her local school district, a Girl Scout Leader, and a Preschool Sunday School teacher. Her love of children and appreciation for those who educate and work to ensure their bright futures, fuels her desire to support the work of practitioners and trainers. Tara’s daily work consists of Trainer and Course approval and support.

Ashley

Ashley - PDAS Specialist & Registry Support

Ashley joined the Registry in 2013 after moving to Madison. She has worked in the early care and education field as a Sunday school teacher, a nanny and a lead teacher in a group child care program. Ashley has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a minor in Psychology. She’s previously worked in customer service positions at a library and in retail settings. At The Registry, Ashley provides customer service,completes mailings and processes Registry applications. Ashley also processes trainer applications, reviews trainings, and assists the Director of Professional Development.

Carlie

Carlie - Professional Development Specialist

Before joining The Registry in 2017, Carlie served three years as an AmeriCorps Vista in three states and another five years working in Out of School Time programs. Carlie believes in the importance of having quality professional development opportunities and the role trainers play within the field of childhood care and education.

Nicky

Nicky - Professional Support Specialist

Nicky joined The Registry in February 2016. She has worked in the childhood care and education field for 11 years as a lead teacher in group child care. She has an associate degree in early childhood and is working on finishing her bachelor’s degree in liberal studies/social work in the fall. Nicky provides customer service by helping members better understand The Registry and how it pertains to their job in the field of childhood care and education.

Julia

Julia - Data Verification Coordinator

Julia began working at The Registry as a Data Verification Specialist in August 2016. Now, as Data Verification Coordinator, she oversees the consistent and accurate implementation of policies and procedures for data processing. Julia also provides direct support to providers via phone and email, assisting them throughout each phase of their individual application and membership process. Julia passionately advocates for the childhood care and education workforce by providing the highest quality registry services as they pursue their professional goals.

Danielle

Danielle - Lead Data Verification Specialist

Since joining The Registry in October 2017 as a Document Intake Specialist, Danielle has been able to assist in processing and finalizing customer applications. She previously worked in Educational Publishing, which provided her with an abundance of customer service experience. Danielle believes in putting the customer first and strives to ensure everyone has a positive experience with The Registry.

Dan - Data Verification Specialist

Dan started working at The Registry in February 2014. Dan moved to Wisconsin after serving as the Registry Coordinator in Minnesota. His extensive 25 year background in the field of early childhood includes Special Needs Coordinator and Executive Director in center based programs. He also was employed by the Minnesota AEYC as the Professional Development Coordinator. His philosophy serves him well:  "Everything will be good in the end; if it is not good then, it is not yet the end."

Gina

Gina - Data Verification Specialist

Having worked 3 years at a Head Start program and another 3 years at the Literacy Network, Gina brings experience in the field to The Registry team. Originally from Puerto Rico, Gina moved to Wisconsin after earning a bachelor's degree in early childhood and primary education. She joined The Registry team in April 2016 and provides bilingual customer service and data entry.

Sheemika

Sheemika - Data Verification Specialist

Sheemika brings over seven years of childhood care experience to the The Registry staff.  With her experience in the field, she has a keen insight into what it takes to remain up-to-date on current research, best practices, and requirements.  Sheemika believes that "professional development allows us to grow and better ourselves.”  Since joining The Registry in July 2016, she enjoys supporting those in the field through her role. 

Natalie

Natalie - Lead Document Intake Specialist

Natalie is passionate about children’s education. Prior to joining The Registry in 2014, Natalie worked as a substitute teacher, an Assistant Director of Afterschool Academic Clubs of Excellence, and an Administrative Assistant in child care billing.  These experiences have helped Natalie understand and "value the professional work our clients have completed in the field of childhood care and education."  At The Registry, she enjoys working with and helping clients navigate the membership application process. 

Heidi

Heidi - Document Intake Specialist

Heidi is passionate for quality child care and education opportunities for all children and desires to support all families. She has over 20 years of experience working with children and families in childhood care programs, assisting families to access resources and find quality child care experiences, and as a trainer of child care providers and educators. Since joining The Registry in 2016, she strives to provide excellent customer service to Registry members and also processes membership applications. Sawe

Sawe - Document Intake Specialist

Sawe is often the first point of contact with our clients. Sawe joined The Registry in June 2017 as a Document Intake Specialist. She ensures each clients’ application is processed quickly and accurately. With over seven years of customer service experience and four years as a lead toddler teacher, she values the time of our members and offers effective support via phone and email.

Lynne

Lynne - Develop Technical Assistance Specialist

Lynne joined The Registry in May 2017, as the Develop Technical Assistance Specialist. Lynne has a strong background in customer service and utilizes her experience to support members' questions. She holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and has experience as a Preschool teacher. With over 17 years as a Family Advocate at a Head Start/Early Head Start agency, Lynne values the work our members do and takes pride in providing excellent customer service to them.

Emily

Emily - Lead Registry Specialist

Emily joined The Registry team in March 2018 after spending eight years teaching preschool and school-age children in Reggio Emilia-inspired classrooms and children’s theatre settings. She believes that when those working in the childhood care and education profession are fully supported, they can offer more in their work with children.
